Do Age Spots Need to be Treated

While age spots and sun spots do tend to grow if they go untreated, generally age spots are a cosmetic concern and do not require treatment. They can be effectively treated using lasers, however it is not required to do so. Any lesions of concern on the skin should be checked by a dermatologist to determine if they are skin cancer. If a physician determines the lesion is benign, it does not have to be treated.
